Special Services

Special Education Services
Launch Special Education Services support full-time virtual and per-course students with mild to moderate disabilities through accommodations, modifications and specially designed instruction in a virtual setting.
Services are available for grades 6-12 and are designed to help students access required coursework, make progress toward goals and stay connected to both teachers and districts. Launch offers both direct service and co-taught models. In co-taught courses, a special education-certified teacher works alongside a content-certified teacher to support student learning within the class.
Launch also emphasizes data collection, progress monitoring and regular district communication. Families and districts are asked to submit IEP documentation during enrollment so support can be planned clearly from the start.

Gifted Services
Launch's Gifted Services offer school districts, students and families a collection of courses that have been carefully crafted and designed for gifted learners.
Courses are taught by certified gifted educators and include both live and asynchronous interactions, with optional live lessons offered weekly. Launch’s gifted programming is designed to support more than academic acceleration alone. It also helps students strengthen thinking skills, communication, problem solving, curiosity, and affective development.
For some families and districts, virtual gifted programming can expand access when in-person options are limited. Launch also highlights Launch Liftoff as an enrichment option for grades 1-5 students who do not qualify for gifted services but still need additional challenge.

Counseling Services
Launch Counseling Services help students and families stay supported, connected and ready to succeed throughout their virtual learning journey.
Launch Cares, Launch's comprehensive K-12 counseling program, offers support through one-on-one meetings, small groups and classroom-based guidance. Counseling support can help students with transition, organization, communication, check-ins, and the habits needed to be successful in virtual school.
Launch also emphasizes family communication and practical support. Counseling is part of the broader Launch model of helping families stay informed, supported, and connected rather than left to figure virtual school out alone.

English Language Development
Launch’s English Language Development (ELD/ELL) courses are designed to meet the ever-growing needs of English Language Learners in the state of Missouri.
Both Launch’s elementary and secondary ELD courses utilize WIDA (WorldClass Instructional Design and Assessment) Can Do Descriptors that focus on the four domains of language instruction: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Students who have qualified as an EL student with the qualifications determined by the state of Missouri are provided many authentic opportunities to interact with language digitally. In addition, the courses focus on acceleration of language learning and deliver intentional instruction that builds each student’s academic language.
