There's more than one path to graduation

High school students come to Launch with different goals, schedules, and support needs. Some are looking for a traditional virtual course experience. Some need a more flexible timeline to stay on track for graduation. Others are ready for advanced coursework or want to explore future-ready pathways connected to college and careers. Thanks to Launch's variety of course offerings and different delivery methods, we are able to meet a variety of student needs.

Core Learning Options

For many families, the first question is simple: what will the main learning experience look like?

Traditional Virtual Courses

Traditional Virtual courses are designed for students earning credit in a course for the first time. Students may take a single course or build a full-time virtual schedule, depending on student need.

Launch courses are taught by certified Missouri educators and are designed to engage students in a variety of ways, with discussions, projects and other learning activities. All traditional virtual courses require a proctored final.

Launch Live

Launch also offers live course options for students who benefit from more real-time instruction, peer interaction, and a structured weekly rhythm.

Live courses include required live lessons during the week and are available in select high school core content courses. Students enrolled in live sections are expected to attend regularly and stay engaged in scheduled instruction.

Advanced Coursework Options

If your child is looking to go beyond a standard high school schedule and take on more rigorous academic opportunities, Launch has multiple options.

Honors

Honors courses are designed for students who are ready for additional academic depth, stronger expectations, and more rigorous content within their high school coursework.

Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement courses help students engage with college-level material and prepare for annual AP exams.

Note: AP Exams are scheduled through the student's assigned high school. Launch does not schedule, administer, or pay for AP Exams for partner district students; however, we do assist with scheduling and administering for Launch MOCAP students.

Dual Credit

Dual Credit courses allow students to earn college credit while also completing high school credit. Launch offers dual credit opportunities through Missouri university partners, and many courses are CORE 42-approved.

Flexible Paths Toward Graduation

Not every student moves through high school on the same timeline. Launch offers options for students who need to regain momentum, recover credit, or complete coursework in a more flexible format.

Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery is designed for students who previously took a course but did not earn credit.

These courses take a mastery approach, allowing students to show what they know, followed by targeted content in missing standards. Students can begin taking credit recovery courses at various points in the school year, as they do not follow our traditional enrollment schedule.

Credit Acquisition

Credit Acquisition is designed for students who have not yet taken a course but need a more flexible path to completion.

Teachers establish focus assignments to help students learn the most-important skills needed for priority standards and future course work. Students enrolled in Credit Acquisition course earn pass or fail grades.

Career and Future-Ready Pathways

For some students, the best high school path is one that connects learning more directly to future goals. Launch offers pathway options that help students explore interests, build relevant skills, and prepare for what comes next after graduation.

Launch Missouri’s Workforce

Launch Missouri's Workforce courses give high school students access to career pathways aligned to their areas of interest. By following a pathway sequence and completing all of the courses in that pathway, students graduate career ready with industry-recognized credentials.

Project Lead the Way

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses give students the opportunity to engage in applied, future-focused coursework that emphasizes problem solving, innovation, and hands-on thinking.

For students who want a more design-minded, technical, or project-based academic experience, PLTW can be an important part of a high school pathway.
